Le Radar, Sangatte

Nord-Pas-de-Calais

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

A cape effect often supplies even more south-westerly wind to Sangatte than its famous white-chalk neighbour 'Cap Blanc-Nez'. Plus the wind's more consistent, there's less crowding, and hardly any current – except at high tide in the impact zone! However, the waves aren't so big and only get good at high tide. But be very careful as countless rows of wooden posts seriously limit the inshore play area. There are three main launches: 'Le Radar' near the radar station offers campervan-friendly parking, 'La Boulangerie' in the village offers the biggest waves but roadside parking only, and it's even harder to find a space at 'La Descenderie' on the way out of town – if the pavement's full, try the nearby cemetery.
