The beaches south of Les Cases d'Alcanar are mainly for surfers and SUPers searching for the odd secret spot. But this harsh gravel beach is the last place the south-westerly summer thermal Garbí blows relatively well. It seriously starts to back off at Peñíscola and doesn't kick in again until beyond Valencia as a south-easterly. If you have the choice, it's better up at the Delta.
