A sea-breeze and the funnel-shaped Eckernförder Bay strengthen high pressure easterlies, so Lindhöft works more often than many exposed spots. A sandy beach shelves very gently so the first 50m is standing-depth; waves can arrive with strong north-easterly wind. No wonder Lindhöft’s so popular with kiters! In order to keep it that way a voluntary kite-free zone has been established – ashore or afloat, the area from the motorboats up to the catamarans is out of bounds.
