Llandwyn Bay

Wales & Bristol Channel

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

If Rhosneigr looks too big for you, this spectacular sweep of sand can offer some refuge. With awesome views of the mountainous Lleyn Peninsula, it's a beautiful spot offering fresh water, toilets, and parking on the beach alongside a vast tree-covered picnic area – a great place to bring the family for a day out. If the wind's not blowing you could even take a walk or bike ride round Newbrough Forest. On the water, conditions vary from small chop to chest-high waves but are generally pretty safe – although the currents can be quite strong near Abermenai Point. The beach itself faces SW in the middle, SSW at Abermenai Point, and SE near Llandwyn Island. Conditions vary depending on the wind direction relative to the shore, so it’s worth scouting out the best launch. There are few facilities here, but most are available in nearby Newborough.
