Just south of Montrose, Lunan Bay is a surfer's paradise – long dunes, parking close to the waves, and various sandbars around a rivermouth to perfectly shape the beach-break. It's one of the prettiest beaches on this stretch of coastline, but often a bit too sheltered for windsports. However, it really comes into its own in howling winds and a big pumping swell.
