Malgrat

Primarily a great Garbí spot – the consistent south-westerly is perfect for kiting, and there's an official summer kite zone at Malgrat. It's fun for windsurfing too, especially in a real blow when this bump-&-jump venue becomes a clean beach-break. But it’s not all good – the surroundings are pretty ugly and the sea's not so clean as a factory discharges waste right by the surf-club, clouding the water and tainting the air. North-east to easterly Levante can also provide sideshore wave sessions, but it’s rarely strong enough so you’re usually better off south of Barcelona.
