North of Ancona, beyond Falconara’s API oil refinery, this is a typical Adriatic beach. It’s well-placed for all wind directions and best in strong northerlies (cross-on to onshore, complete with strong current and shorebreak). In summer a kite-friendly 15-knot thermal often blows, although in high-season kiting’s only allowed in the designated zone on the outskirts of 'Montemarciano’. Otherwise, windsurfers and kiters share the space perfectly amicably. Expect to rig 6.0-7.0m sails in summer, 5.0-5.8m in autumn / winter. Parking’s right on the beach.
