Although just 10km from Rostock, it’s surprisingly quiet on the waters beneath Nienhagen's steep coastline. There’s not much room ashore and groynes in the water, so it’s really only for windsurfing – yet, depending on wind direction, it does suit every level. If there’s not even enough wind for big kit, there are great mountain-bike trails along the coast and through the adjacent 'Gespensterwald' – meaning 'Ghost Forest'!
