Nestled in a lush green valley, the wide Playa de Oriñon is a popular winter spot for strong northerly wind. Depending on windstrength and swell, it’s either nice waves or chop. In the west of the estuary, lagoons fill at high tide for flat-water kiting. In the east a nice wave breaks at low tide, although at high water the ride finishes abruptly on an almost vertical rock-face – it’s important to pull out in time, especially with a kite!
