Oued Chbika

Heading south, the N1 road crosses a lagoon in the middle of the desert here. The section inland of the little bridge stays full of water at low tide, but otherwise it's well worth riding the ocean side. The estuary only floods at high tide, but offers amazing views over wind-blown sand-dunes. If you like, you can ride the beach-break beyond, although the wind blows pretty onshore. The cliffs above are a nice place to park a campervan for the night – as long as you're packing enough food and water, as there’s little else here but sand.
