Pedreña is primarily a windsurfing launch, since at high tide the beach narrows to a strip of sand between rocks and a field – while a high-voltage line to the left can prove dangerous. But kiting’s no problem at low tide, plus the water’s very flat and standing-depth throughout. As a beginner, it’s best not to head too far out into the river where there are tidal currents and shipping traffic.
