Plage des Boucholeurs - Noirmoutier

There are four freeride-oriented spots on the island of Noirmoutier. Most swell is absorbed by offshore sandbanks, only at high tide do a few degraded waves make the coast. During high season from June 15th to September 15th kiting is only allowed at Boucholeurs. This beach’s length and variety of launches mean it never gets too busy on the water. A strong south-westerly or north-westerly wind with swell will bring waves, otherwise freeride’s most likely. Best conditions within 3 hours of high tide – at low, a patchwork of mussel-beds appears.
