Playa América

This almost 2km-long, slowly shelving sandy beach is located in the sheltered bay of Baiona behind Illas Estelas. Thermal north-west to northerly often blows slightly gusty and stays relatively weak, except for in springtime. Then the flat water is perfectly suits beginners and freestyle. Low-pressure winter south-westerlies can bring short yet potent waves. This would never be your top choice though, as this wind direction is pretty gusty. In high summer it can get a bit crowded for kiting around high tide with all the sunbathers.
