Punta Blanca

While 'Cotillo' can be pretty gusty in the impact zone beneath a steep coastline, here the north-easterly Passat sweeps freely over flat lava fields. Punta Blanca is therefore one of the most consistently windy spots in the north. It's best to drive in via the gravel track towards high tide when you'll be able to launch on a small sandy patch right by the road – there's only enough water over the rocks above mid-tide. Outside, the cross-on north-easterly Passat pushes numerous jump-ramps your way; they can get impressively big too.
