Punta Pellaro

Locals consider this one of the most beautiful spots around. Just ten minutes south of 'Reggio Calabria', it still fully enjoys the benefits of a north to north-westerly thermal from March to October, much of the time between 15 and 20 knots. Consistent winds, 50m of standing-depth water inshore and the 'Magna Graecia’ wind-club’s safety boats are a bonus, especially for kiters. This is also the start of the annual Strait of Messina crossing race, the record sits at almost 35 minutes. There's a 'bagno' bathing resort and beach café nearby.
