When it gets hard to keep hold of your boom in Guincho, the Ericeiran breaks get interesting. There’s a couple of Forces less wind during the day, and it usually drops off in the evening. Cross-shore Nortada blows gusty inshore, but the down-the-line riding potential is excellent – big swell delivers a mast-high reef-break that's super-clean and fast at low tide. Experts only! There are rocks and sea urchins in the launch, and most surfers don’t appreciate windsurfers on 'their' peak. Nearby 'Praia do Matadouro' is more relaxed.
