Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
If there’s no swell anywhere else, try Sabón – it wraps in incredibly well here, and the waves have got even cleaner since the harbour expansion. The breaks south of 'Ferrol’ provide an alternative to 'Doniños' or 'San Xurxo' when the wind’s too easterly. Ideal conditions are NW swell and cross-on north-easterly wind. South-westerly also blows in well, but the waves get so big that only a few brave souls dare venture out. The beach has a steep drop-off so the shorebreak is always gnarly. On the left, by the surfers, a current pulls onto the rocks. But sadly, your eyes won’t just sting from salt water off this wide sandy beach. Discharge from the nearby power station supposedly gets purified, yet the industrial atmosphere, factory emissions and cloudy water aren't for the squeamish.
