A Coruña’s city spot is equally popular among freeriders, kiters and beginners. From spring to summer, north-easterlies regularly blow Force 3-6 (and increase a notch most afternoons too). A wide, sandy beach shelves gently into the water with no obstructions. Even though it gets really crowded in summer, kiting is permitted year-round – although beginners should look elsewhere during summer holidays, as any incident could jeopardise the future of this locally popular after-work spot. Depending on tide, there can be some current near the rivermouth. Despite its vicinity to the harbour, the water quality is acceptable.
