Probably the best thing about Santa Giulia is the amazing colour of the water. The bay is shallow and protected, offering supreme flat-water beginner conditions in Mistral or Libecciu. Yet the wind’s gusty and the water so full of boats that it’s best reserved for a beach holiday. What’s more, parking’s a nightmare in summer – you’ll have to be up well before breakfast to find a space. Only any good for kiting in north-easterlies out of season.
