If there are no waves at Avon, there's often something at Southbourne. It's a relatively heavy break, usually ridden in south-west to westerly winds for fun cross-onshore riding and jumping. Watch out for the shoredump which packs a punch at high tide, making for a tricky launch between the groynes.
