Spanish Point

In front of the Armada Hotel there's a meaty reef-break, although the gusty winds can sometimes be very patchy. The best launch is from the beach to the right of the point at mid-tide. Be careful of the rocks, strong current, and gusty winds. For a real dice with death on a wave comparable to Jaws in Hawaii, you can try 'Outside Point'. This monster wave jacks up from the deep Atlantic straight onto a reef – huge and hollow. (In fact, maybe we shouldn’t have mentioned it at all: this is one truly dangerous wave!)
