Spiagge Bianche

A great thermal spot with north-westerly winds hitting 15-20 knots in spring and summer. A fine sandy beach, 50m of standing-depth water, no obstacles – excellent for kiting! Good waves can build when low-pressure systems push through – the best waveriding conditions come with a strong north-westerly. The only problem is the huge factory right on the beach; that white shore and the pale waters aren’t from crushed seashells, it's bicarbonate – a by-product of soda production. Mercury has been found here too, so keep your mouth shut if you fall in! If it gets too crowded, you’ll find a bit more room as well as more parking spaces 1km further south at 'Spiagge Bianche'.
