SPO, Südstrand

For beginners and intermediates, Südstrand is Sankte Peter's most popular spot because of the excellent training area in the wide tidal creek. There's enough depth to windsurf within two hours of high tide, twice as long for kites. High water is also the best time for waves, in north-westerly they're so clean the locals call it "Little Hawaii". Südstrand's only drawback is that, even at high tide, it's one hell of a walk from car-park to beach (although the shuttle bus does offer kit transport). If you come to SPO, pack your hiking boots!
