Germany's largest standing-depth venue stretches 12km round the top of the Ummanz Peninsula. All wind directions are sailable, but the best are from the western half of the compass – westerly is strengthened as it squeezes between the mainland and Hiddensee Island. Ummanz has its fair share of wilderness, but even so Suhrendorf offers all facilities with its campsite and surf-school – the shop even sells those vital weed fins!
