South-west and north-westerly winds blow sideshore across the large bay of Tofta, producing quite a nice beach-break. The first 80m is standing-depth; only in onshore westerlies does the water rise significantly. Outside of swimming season, Tofta is also perfect for kiting – but in high summer you'll be lucky to find any room on the water.
