Beyond Lübeck, the next spot is the town beach of Travemünde. This Baltic spa town is fully devoted to the treatment of its guests, so it’s best to visit out of season. North of the harbour breakwater and beyond the town’s towering attractions – a 500 year-old lighthouse and historic four-masted trader – a large bay opens out, mainly suitable for freeride. Only in north-easterly winds do the Baltic waves have enough fetch to offer a cross-onshore challenge.
