If the wind's slightly too onshore or Gwithian's really big, Uptons will have a cleaner wave. Drive through St Ives Bay Holiday Park off the B3301 or take Sandy Acres Lane to Mexico's pay-and-display car-park. Both options work at high tide with less rip than Gwithian, but either way prepare for a long walk through the sand-dunes to launch.
