Driving from Izmir, Urla is the first spot on the Çeşme Peninsula. If you can't wait another half-hour to reach Alaçati there are three launches onto the Gulf of Carpan: one where a kite school is now located on the south-western shore, another on the east bank with cross-shore wind. The third on a shallow sandbar at the end of a headland to the north offers a smooth flat-water speedstrip, but also strong offshore wind.
