Just five minutes from the Genoa-Voltri main road, there's extremely flat water in offshore Tramontana (kiting with a safety boat only!) or medium waves in onshore Scirocco (south-easterly). Either way, it's not a beginner spot. The locals operate a safety boat on windy days, but it’s still best not to sail out beyond the breakwater. Launch in front of 'Pizzeria Voltri' – it can get very windy in October and November!
