Don't be afraid of the wild Westend! Although it's called 'Sturmeck' ("storm corner") on the map, the sandbank out front creates a shallow, kilometre-wide training venue at high tide. This is where the kite pioneers of Old Laramie built their ranch, including a kite school. Beyond the sandbank are big blue North Sea mountains, the best waves are in north-westerlies.
