Zarautz is also better known as a surf-spot. But if a west-north-westerly happens to get strong enough, you might find some kite or windsurf fun in waves breaking over sand here; often overhead in winter. If the wind's blowing too westerly, the left side of the bay is particularly gusty. At high tide the beach gets very narrow, and the shorebreak even bigger.
